Dear Friends

As many of you may already know, I am involved in fundraising for O.G.D.U, a
non-profit organization that supports under-employed artists, single parents
of pre-school children and the homeless. I am contacting you on behalf of
O.G.D.U to request your support in the form of a tax-deductible donation.

For those of you who are not familiar with our organization,O.G.D.U is a non-
profit organization that has supported the homeless shelter in Murphy, NC . . . a
90- day, restorative program for the homeless. The homeless shelter gives shelter
and direction for a new start. The staff helps the residents by providing a
home with a drug and alcohol free environment, giving them the opportunity to get
back on their feet. The homeless shelter helps the residents with finding
jobs and affordable housing in the area or sometimes just finding a way home.

O.G.D.U. is in partnership with Far West Mountain Economic Partners Inc. and
the One Dozen Who Care. We are working together to bring more affordable housing
and economic opportunities to the culturally rich (and equally poor) Southern
Appalachian Mountain communities.

I am asking you to help us out this year by giving a tax-deductible donation
to OGDU. Inc. We are starting an art program with lessons and supplies for
those in need. This allows them to make money while at the Friendship homeless
shelter; the Reach women shelters, and provides outreach to those in economic need in
the surrounding area.

The first in a series of art pendants designed by Mimi von Litolff is; One
God Different Us? which is the theme of this project. Please look at the enclosed
postcard image. The original painting was painted after the artist saw stone
arms in a burial crypt photograph. The National Geographic magazine picture
was captioned with the archaeologist's comment, "... we don't know what these
stone arms a re for." Mimi felt they were to help one reach God. Years later, the
image became multiple arms representing people and their religions . . . all
trying to reach God in their own way, different ways, not wrong ways.

For this pendant, each hand has been painted for the five tribes, white,
black, brown, yellow, and red, which gives us a vision to promote racial and
religious tolerance which is needed now more than ever. Great care has been taken to
keep this pendant affordable and a good training piece. The image is impregnated
into a clay-like plastic (made in America that is cut, polished, drilled, strung
on satin, knotted and beaded, then enclosed with a self-explanatory postcard in
a cellophane envelope for donations and resale.

To see the image please go to www.MIMIVart.com and click on One God
Different US. There you will find the package, along with the postcard and the
pendant. As funds become available, we intend to have a separate website with order
capabilities and credit card acceptance. We also have a retail space at Queen
Bee's Gallery in Brasstown, N.C.

There, we intend to expand along the lines of the Spruce Pines project ...
An endeavor that eventually created 300 products for the community to make,
sell, resulting in economic viability for a community that had been one of
profound poverty.

I thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to whatever
support you can provide such as grants, funding and donations. Your generosity will
allow us to begin this economic solution to a pressing need.
